Privacy Policy
Effective September 17, 2026
Romanov Law (“we”) operates www.romanovlaw.com. This policy covers information collected through the website and the online booking page. It does not cover information you give us as a client or prospective client in a consultation or a legal matter. That information is handled under our professional duties.
This page is our California notice. We are a California law firm. We do not claim this page is a legal opinion.
Categories we collect
- Identifiers: your name, email, phone number, and, if you type it on a booking form, the other party’s name.
- Internet activity: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and whether you arrived from an ad.
- Commercial information: the appointment you choose and whether it was paid. Your full card number is entered with Square or PayPal. We do not store it on this website.
- Professional information: only if you type it into a message on the booking form.
- Sensitive personal information: we do not ask for a Social Security number or health information on the website. A card number handled by Square or PayPal is their processing, not a file on our site.
Sources
We get this information from you, from cookies and similar tools on the site, from our website host, and from the companies named below when you book, pay, or watch a video.
Why we use it
To answer you, schedule appointments, check conflicts, run and secure the site, measure whether an ad led to a visit, process a payment you choose to make, and meet a legal duty.
Who receives it
We use these companies to run the site. We do not sell your personal information to data brokers.
- Google, for the Ads conversion tag ID AW-16561862076, to measure whether an ad led to a visit.
- Acuity Scheduling (a Squarespace service), for online booking.
- Square and PayPal, to process a card payment for a paid consultation.
- VdoCipher, to play videos.
- Our website host, for server logs and security.
Sale and sharing
We do not sell personal information. We do not give other companies a list of our visitors for those companies to advertise their own products.
The Google tag measures ad visits. We have not reviewed the Google Ads account to confirm that tag is conversion-only and not also used to retarget. Google’s own use of cookies is described in Google’s policy. To limit interest-based ads, use Google’s ad settings, the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out, or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell personal information. If you want to opt out of interest-based advertising cookies, use the three links in the section above, or email diana@romanovlaw.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share.”
Do Not Track
Our website does not respond to a browser Do Not Track signal. The opt-out links above are the controls we offer.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and inquiry information for as long as we need it for the appointment, a conflict check, our records, and any legal duty to keep it. Server logs are kept for the host’s ordinary security period. We do not keep your full card number.
Payment
If you book a paid consultation, Acuity charges the price shown at booking. Payment is processed by Square or PayPal. We do not store your full card number on this website. The 10-minute intake is free and does not take a card. Our cancellation policy on the booking form still applies: 48 hours’ notice, or the payment is forfeited.
Text messages
The appointment types we reviewed do not send text reminders. If a booking form asks you to opt in to texts, that consent is for that message only. We do not send marketing texts from this website.
Your California rights
If you are a California resident, you may ask us to know, correct, or delete personal information we collected, and you may ask us to limit use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the service you asked for. You may use an authorized agent. We will not discriminate against you for asking.
Email diana@romanovlaw.com or call (415) 347-0584. We will verify that the request matches the email or phone we have. We will respond within 45 days, and we will tell you if we need up to 45 more days.
Appeal
If we deny your request, email diana@romanovlaw.com with the subject “Appeal.” We will answer within 45 days.
Cookies
The site uses cookies for the Google tag. If you book, pay, or watch a video, Acuity, Square, PayPal, or VdoCipher may set their own cookies. You can block cookies in your browser. Some features may not work the same way.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information. We do not sell or share personal information of anyone we know to be under 16.
